Real heroism vs. comic book heroism

A real hero in a time where we're inundated with imitation comic book "hero" characters that can't even fake heroism in their movies...
I'm so glad I got to see Sully on the big screen... Inspirational
Big movie scriptwriters and directors (especially comic books & action/adventure movies) need to gaze away from their own navels and start writing actually heroic characters in movies again... All of this neurotic self-obession with childhoods, being victims, psychological hang-ups and such is ruining movies... Leave that for morose TV shows instead...
Show us someone who wrestles with morality and makes the courageous choice rather than the expedience or sentimental one... Show us someone with a sense of duty, or loyalty... i.e. someone who has character as opposed to just being a character...

I'm kind of mystified at the continued cultural focus on superhero movies. I'm personally done watching them. The themes are so repetitive and the emotions so overwrought that I just can't take it anymore. I watched them for general entertainment, mostly to pass the time when I exercised, but I hope nobody sees them as role models. Actors who spend a year with a personal trainer before play acting in front of a camera don't really measure up to the Sullys of the world.
Side note: What's so "heroic" about characters like Thor and Hulk who, at least at this point in the movies, are nigh invulnerable? There's nothing heroic about standing in front of a tank when it can't possibly hurt you.
I look forward to when people are finally burned out. As for myself, I'm sticking to YT and documentaries. At least there are real people there.

A poor imitation of GroundHogs Day. A tiresome movie made by veterans who sleep in Confederate Flag bed sheets. The movie tagline shoulda been "Remember the good ol time... when we knew what service really means. No? Then, GET OFF MY LAWN!"
