Where to start? This movie had nothing new to say - the usual feminist issues that had no relation to the plot have to be portrayed in detail. What was the point of getting DNA if it's only purpose was to prove that Daddy wasn't her real Daddy? and why wasn't he charged with kidnap and imprisonment of a minor? - and wouldn't that DNA prove that she was something other than a normal human? And if she wasn't human how did she get pregnant by one - humans don't procreate with animals. And Daddy - I never saw a quicker recovery from a bullet through the head. I love the way they lit a fire in a forest whilst they were still in it !! And Wolfman? what was his motivation - he saved her twice - does he approve of teenagers getting their throats torn out? And of course the ending - didn't you just know it was going to be the northern lights and a baby she had on her own and a roaring someplace to hint at the ongoing survival of these creatures. Why film makers try to make us sympathise with bloodthirsty killing beasts I have no idea.

Yeah plotholes aplenty. It was trying to be a stylish, modern day, werewolf film in its Carrie-like style but never really succeeded. Good acting though from the main actress.

Bel Powley....its like Im attracted to her for some odd reason. She dosent look like your regular actress, its weird man. She looks like she should be working at CVS down the road. But she can act. Ignore the plot holes and crazy set up, just enjoy it for what it is, a fun 'horror' film with a semi new story.

I suppose that's what the issue was; it was taking itself far too seriously for what should've been a fun take on the genre. Watchable, but frustrating. Also...why wasnt Liv Tyler's character just the boy's mum? It was an odd choice to make her the sister who's probably at least 20 years older.

But agree with Bel Powley, she has this strange alluring look about her where she could be old or could be young.
