Discuss Road House

Based only on the trailer, this seems to lack something to me.

Maybe I'm just getting old and don't relate to what the young people think is cool nowadays.

Don't get me wrong. Jake Gyllenhaal is a great actor, and he clearly put in work in the gym for a decent physique. He'll also offer that melancholy needed to be Dalton, who was as philosophical as he was physical.

McGregor seems over-the-top, but that's on the director, again, likely aiming at what he thinks funny is today.

Of course, maybe I'm just nostalgic. The original Road House was no masterpiece, but it had a charm, a pathos, to it that was not all noise and bravado, and it was... different from the standard action of the 80s (Sly, Arnie, Bruce). And Sam Elliott's Wade Garrett? If there is no similar character in this remake, well, they've already missed a lot of the heart of the original story.

Not hopeful.

UFC fans will love to see former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Gyllenhaal brutal KO of his opponent in a UFC fight

They consider Patrick Swayze practicing Tai Chi as too 'soft' against the raw force of ripped Gyllenhaal.

Soft? Kids today have never even skinned their knees. Tell them to do some chores and they're crying.

These 'kids', or these kids?

There are exceptions, but they only reinforce norms. It's 80-20. When I say "kids today" I'm speaking generally, "most" kids today. I know 20 year olds who have never ridden a bicycle, who have never once actually even gotten into a fight in the schoolyard. We all see "kids today" don't play outside anymore, they sit on their asses playing video games. They have no attention span, no literary deportment, no empathy, everything has to be superficial because they have no insight.

Now, get off my lawn ;-)

In general i liked so much this movie. And Connor acting is a showman

I would never have even attempted to remake this movie as the original is perfect.
