Über Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle diskutieren

It dawned on me that the game has a clear agenda, and it is a good agenda.

The first Jumanji movie seemed to be a much a harder game that what we see in “Welcome to the Jungle”. And the place as described by the Robin Williams' character, seem not at all like what we see here…. but this is no plot hole or even discrepancy. It is very intentional.

The game evidently conform to whoever is playing it and it seem to dig into deep rooted personal issues that these gamers have at home.

The first Jumanji (1995) was about Alan and his estranged relation to his dad and bulling (why the same actor played both the hunter and his dad). The second ,“Zathura: A Space Adventure” (2005) was about silly rivalry among brothers and this third one has a theme about mutual respect among your peers and to believe in your true-self - something all of them had problems with.

And in the end of each of these games, we see personal growth and that each of these issues are no more issues to them. The players frankly become better people by playing the game.

But in truth, the game is playing them. Not the other way around. And to understand it... to really understand the game; we have to realize that it focuses on deep rooted personal issues and aim to resolve these through its tryouts. I suspect it only "invites" those who are in need of its help; well-balanced individuals wont be invited in.

Brilliant.
