Ever since Simon Pegg's character Benji became a IMF field agent in Ghost Protocol, he's always wanted to wear one of those mask disguises that the Classic Mission Impossible TV series made so iconic.
Alas, every time he wanted to wear one, for one reason or another the idea always got shot down. So I thought it was cool that he actually got to wear TWO masks (Wolf Blitzer and Solomon Lane)! Congratulations Benji!
BTW, this is the second spy movie Wolf Blitzer has had a cameo in. The other one was Skyfall.

As an OG fan of Classic Mission Impossible, I am really disappointed that the current generation of the Mission Impossible movie franchise have no respect for one of the best parts of the TV series AND movies: THE MASKS!
Now I realize that some of you think that Tom Cruise came up with the idea for Mission Impossible all by himself (wrong - Mission Impossible was created by Bruce Geller in 1966, ran on CBS from 1966 to 1973, and is still in syndication around the world. Cruise used to watch the reruns when he was a kid and loved them).
Nowadays all of you nitpickers think the masks are cheesy, but back in the day, we thought they were cool. Sometimes, the actors would even have (or at least it looked like) two masks, one on top of the other, on! Ah, the days when one could suspend disbelief!
In closing, I'd like to mention something that gives me hope for Mission Impossible fandom. There's a clip on YouTube of the pre-credits scene of Fallout when Benji fools the bad guy into giving the needed info by pretending to be Wolf Blitzer. He wears a mask to do this. In the comments section, there were a lot of "Hey, Benji finally got to wear a mask! That was so cool!" remarks. I rest my case.
