So the White Widow is the daughter of Max, who was played by Vanessa Redgrave in the first film.
It's something that will be missed by most but Vanessa Kirby gave a very good imitation of her "mother".

I saw the first movie in theaters twice as a teenager, but I don't think I've seen it in about 20 years. Still, as soon as she mentioned Max, my older brother and I looked at each other as we recognized the callback to the first movie.
