Discusión Working Girl

Hadn't seen this since it came out, and made the mistake of watching it again recently (2017). Not a good idea... grin One thing is Joan Cusack's absurd hair, another is the parade of giant plotholes and improbabilities. But that's just me, probably.

Re the hair, absurd is an understatement astonished and the eye make up was a distraction too. But I still didn't mind the movie, probably because I liked watching Harrison Ford relaxed

Hehe, well I suppose that's understandable -- at times I might say Melanie Griffith was reason enough to enjoy a movie as well, but the whole fashion/makeup thing here is hard to look past on the ladies. And yeah, Joan Cusack... I thought I remembered the 80's ludicrous hairdos well enough, but I actually paused the film and laughed out loud every time Cusack showed up. She looks as if she was supposed to have been struck by lightning in a Mel Brooks comedy or something like that. joy

Seriously....

She was the quirky, impulsive, supportive friend. It's been ages since I've watched the film, but it's very much of its time. I still think Melanie was at her most watchable in Cherry 2000. 😀

Yes she was great in Cherry 2000. I just re-watched that the other day.

Never even heard of that before. After looking it up I'm not entirely sure I want to... grin

It's not as bad as you think grinning It's scifi..

I think Cusack's hair adds to the film's value. As does "boney ass".

I was 14 years old when I saw this in the theater. Naturally, I enjoyed Melanie Griffith's underwear scenes (I think there were two of those), but aside from those, I found the movie boring. I might like it more if I watched it again today.

Tim Thomerson, sex 'bots, a souped up classic Mustang, and a rocket launcher? What's not to love? Cherry 2000's one of my absolute favorite '80's B-movies. VERY watchable.

How about Shining Through?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQTkVZ_EvZI Well then, here's a real Working Girl! (This has more to do with the "Bob's Burgers" episode "Wotk Hard or Die Trying, Girl.")
