I feel like she was just using him for the book, but she may have developed some romantic feelings along the way. She definitely cared about the book more.

One thing I didn't understand, was for someone that he wanted to be absolutely sure of he got the right "man", didn't consider Mia to be Kira after he had met her, or at least explore the option (he did later after accusing Light, but a little too late). I mean that everything that's suppose to point to Light as a suspect, actually also points to Mia.
