I mean, I wanna know what everyone else thinks, but it seems pretty clear to me that this was utter crap. I very rarely watch horror movies while smiling. And yet there was a stupid grin on my face for the most part of this movie. Why you may ask? Well because of the horrid acting, nonsense logic plot, and cheap jumpscares. I can't believe how bad this is. The original was pretty good, and this is a blasphemy against the original. Showing the witch? What the hell? The horror of it was from not seeing it at all. The creepiness of the house? It was creepy because we saw it very briefly and only at the end. And before we could make any sense of it, the movie ended. But in this one, Jesus. The entire last quarter of the movie takes place inside the house. We see the witch several times, diminishing the scariness of it. We get dense background information on the witch through the poorly designed Lane character, which further removes scariness of the witch. Characters bumping into each other loudly screaming, even though they were hollering at each other 5 seconds ago with no answer, simply for the jumpscares?
This was very, very bad. And I am surprised. I am sad. At least I got a good couple of chuckles out of it. They turned Blair Witch into a senseless teen slasher. My god.

I did not see this film, but I will attest that the scariest part of its predecessor, The Blair Witch Project, for me was indeed the visual absence of the witch. One of the kids' description of the witch alone made the hair on my arms stand up....

@Satch_the_man agreed. If you haven't seen it, then don't. The first movie is better in your memories as the lone Blair Witch movie. Don't mess the prestige up by watching this one, just pass. The several times we see the witch in this movie, every time she was onscreen it became less and less scary really fast. And then after a while I started smiling. After a while, I started talking -which I never ever do in movies. And then I started laughing. What an incredible waste of potential for a cult classic. God dammit.
