Discuter de Solo: A Star Wars Story

Hollywood Reporter

Many believe Disney should pump the breaks and not put out a Star Wars movie each year.

I made the timing decision, and as I look back, I think the mistake that I made — I take the blame — was a little too much, too fast. You can expect some slowdown, but that doesn't mean we're not gonna make films. J.J. [Abrams] is busy making [Episode] IX. We have creative entities, including [Game of Thrones creators David] Benioff and [D.B.] Weiss, who are developing sagas of their own, which we haven't been specific about. And we are just at the point where we're gonna start making decisions about what comes next after J.J.'s. But I think we're gonna be a little bit more careful about volume and timing. And the buck stops here on that.

I guess it's a reaction to the low box office of Solo. Must have been a reality check for Disney!

Hope they stick to it...Disney was all too eager and happy to print their own money with the likes of Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars...

But Star Wars were ALWAYS an event flick..I have great memories of my dad taking me to see Return of the Jedi (my 1st SW movie in theaters)...when you got 2 or 3 a year it takes away from the epic "event" feel.

Slow it down to a Chapter every 1-2 years! The fans will still churn out! QUALITY over QUANTITY dammit!!!!!!!!!!!

Quantity is not the problem...quality is. There was, what, almost two decades between the original movies and the prequels with Jar Jar and the rest. Let's just say that the long hiatus certainly did not help them make a better movie back then so why would it be any different now?

They told a good story and had interesting characters in the original movies. These days you have robo-human love relationships and all around douchebaggery for the whole family!

Its not just the quantity of the films they keep pumping out, but the fact that they trow in political/SJW shit into the films. And than call the fans racists/sexists if they dont agree with it. Not to mention the actors/directors arent helping by going on social media and feeding the trolls. Solo was a back lash, a back lash from the core fans that are tired of seeing SW being fucked over to please a vocal view. Disney can save SW by going back and capturing what made the originals so much fun and magical to watch.

I didn’t get a SJW vibe from Solo but agree wholeheartedly that the problem is quality, not quantity. I could easily see two films a year if they were good. With the wealth of the SW Universe in book fiction alone it wouldn’t have to feel like you saw the same movie twice. I don’t want Disney to think they can keep the SW team we have and just release them further apart as the fix. Warner’s had the same problem with Snyder and DC. The guy was personally destroying the chance of a DC movie universe and Warner’s kept going. The only reason MoS made money was because of anticipation and we missed the hell out of seeing Supe’s brought to life. BvS made money because we all thought they can’t F it up twice, surely? I bet they learned from MoS’s mis steps and this one will be the ticket.....lol. Justice League wasn’t as awful as those 2 but it still felt very much like “shame on me” for being fooled twice with BvS.

Now I watched Solo just the other day, on a Plane no less, so my expectations were almost non existent and I needed to kill time. But I didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it but it was not an unpleasant way to spend two hours. Loved Ron putting his brother in there.

Marvel, often has multiple movie releases and ongoing TV as well. There’s no fatigue when it’s good. While AoS was on TV it didn’t take away at all from the movies. Because it was totally different in execution from the movies. SW could do this to.
