Discusión Solo: A Star Wars Story

I mean Rian Johnson screwed up the episode 8 so bad. Its going to be impossible for JJ Abrams to fix it. In the end the sequel trilogy will probably be a incoherent mess. I just don't see a reason to pay to watch the end of this train wreck.

Well we could hope JJ retcons the whole mess and starts fresh from Luke being handed the light saber again

Nah, we should boycott Episode 9 as well. Vote with your wallets people!!!

Kylo's voice: "Let the New Trilogy die, kill it if you have to"

What's it "episode 9" of anyway?

Episodes I -VI: The rise, fall & redemption of Anakin Skywalker.

How do the ST films represent a continuation of this storyline, esp after TLJ?

Is there any reason to see any film you're not interested in?

If they get rid of Kennedy and stop trying to shove identity politics down our throats...sure. But the odds of that are slim to none. They probably will just double down on that shit.

I think the ninth movie, whatever it's called, will probably post the highest ticket sales of all three mainly because people like to see "how it ends." J J Abrams is not a director I care much for, mainly because I think he brings very few new ideas to the table. He's a competent filmmaker like, funnily enough, Ron Howard (who directed Solo) but most of what J J does is mimic the techniques of filmmakers he's admired, especially Spielberg. Unlike Rian Johnson, though, J J knows it's his responsibility to put the franchise back on track, so I fully expect him to bend some of the tangents Johnson made back into line so that older (and still lucrative) fans will come back to the theaters after they felt insulted by Johnson's movie.

Predictions:

  • Luke will return in some form to explain what happened

  • Rey will kill Ren and take Leia's place at the head of the rebellion (and a new order of Jedi)

  • There will be a gigantic "all-in" battle where the Rebels bring new allies to the fight to kill Hux and the leadership of ... god I forget what it's called

  • Finn won't do anything worthwhile and we'll endure his romance with Rose because it's what we're expected to do

  • Poe will shoot more things

  • Phasma will return again and finally die in an inescapable yet completely moronic death

  • Chewie will finally finish his Porg dinner

Sure there is a reason to see it! You'll go see it so you can moan afterwards on sites like this!

We have all this to come:

"JJ Abrams has done the impossible, he's made a worse Star Wars film than Rian Johnson!"

"Episode 9 ends with the worst scene in Star Wars history - the wedding scene between Kylo and Rey. When Jar Jar Binks appeared from that wedding cake we knew the franchise had sunk to a new low. The cake did look rather tasty, though."

"Episode 9 made no sense, Kylo Ren's resurrection of Darth Vader with clone technology was very controversial and Daisy Ridley's acting was more wooden than the forest of Endor."

Its too late for that. You got that 2/3rds of the trilogy completed with that BS. It's like a terrible blow job you have beared and grinned for a considerable amount of time now. At this point, they might as well keep sucking until you come no matter how bad they are raking your dick with their teeth. Just have to hope that the next BJ (The next trilogy) is teethless.

Oh God, it sounds like you are speaking from experience. But I can def understand the analogy. I honestly dont think they will change course anytime soon. Even with the low numbers Solo is bringing in. Maybe for the BF movie they announced...might try something new with that one. Or the eventual Obi-Wan movie. There is still hope, even if its a small amount.

All of the above reasons, but some people are disgusted by some reasons more than the others.

Oh sorry, forgot to add a complete lack of respect for the original source material and basically slapping the old school fans in the face. Stated this in other topics as well.

I will not pay for any SW movie again until they break off from this nostalgia train, until Kennedy is fired. I will go see an old republic movie, nothing else interests me.

YES! Thank you! The "nostalgia train" is such a joke. It was REAL bad in Rogue One. They injected nostalgia in there with the finesse of a cerebral palsy sufferer trying to figure skate. I must quote our great President's wordsmith abilities in this instance:

It was just SAD!

Now don't go running over to favorite dictionary websites all at once now.
