Anyway, this trailer looks marginally less bad than the rest of the trailers. I still have no hope for the film, but I'll see it just to get out of the house.

I have a little more hope. It seems like they had fun making it, but I just wonder if the audience will appreciate that. I mean lets be honest, unless this is amazing some how its not going to make to much money. I wonder what the budget was...

I'm sure I'm an idiot for bringing this up in 2018, but for chrissakes does it HAVE to have that much CGI? All the blood is CG. The big Predator is CGI. The dogs are CGI.

BTW, why the hell does a Predator that has heat vision and tech far beyond anything we have need a dog to hunt? Isn't the whole idea of the Predator that it enjoys one-on-one killing and the thrill of gutting/stripping/hanging its prey? When doggie bites and mauls trophy into tiny bits, it's a crappy wall ornament.

Yes, it has classic Shane Black attitude, which is what punches up this trailer. I'm sure it'll be fairly quotable, like most James Cameron action flicks. But every SINGLE one of them has a witty quip to throw out and it just looks like an action video game. Maybe that's what the franchise is now, and I guess that's okay for a lot of folks, but I'll be damned if I ever think that throwing walls of CG at the audience is better than filming ACTUAL actors in ACTUAL costumes in an ACTUAL jungle with real blood squibs.

Well since it is 2018 and CGI is better than where it was years ago and probably less of an issue when filming. But I agree, we do need more practical effects for sure. I hope if we get gun shots on humans we see some squib work and also on the fugitive Pred as well. Im sure everything with the huge genetic Pred is going to be all CGI but that cant be helped. As for the dogs , they are hunters. It makes sense that they would use other animals to help them track, probably more for fun than anything, since Im sure they can track just fine without them. The dogs can also be used as distractions/back up if it gets really out numbered for whatever reason.

I've been a fan of the franchise since I saw it on VHS when I was 6 years old. Ive constantly been let down after Predator 2. Predators with Brody was ok in my book. Something different but everything after that was just terrible. After reading what they wanted to do with this one I was def expecting to hate it. But since the re shoots I've had hope again. Looks like no more friendly Preds and I really really hope they cut back on the whole kid that can read and speak Pred shit. I also hope they cut back on potato face Munn. I want to see badass dudes and badass Preds fucking things up, is that to much to ask for?
