As a standalone film it was ok but compared to the miniseries it was fantastic. King very often let his work get butchered on crappy TV movies and series. I know the film wasn't completely faithful to the book but it did a good job of keeping what worked and discarding what didn't. The kid who played Pennywise, who had some big shoes to fill (Yes, that was a clown joke), as Tim Curry's performance in the original was one of the few redeeming qualities of the series, did an excellent job. The opening scene with Georgie was spot on and I loved it.

preferred the mini series. It felt much more suspenseful. The reboot did have alot of improvements though.

The problem I had with the mini-series was the script was hacky and so was the acting. It also suffered the issue of pacing problems as it felt too drawn out. Still, it did have its moments though.
