The central core of the story is God's great love for us. I have read the book and seen the film, and I am moved to see this central truth and to focus on it beyond any theological questions that others may think detracts from the story. The more you know about the Bible the more you may see flaws in the depiction of the Trinity, but just think how beautiful it is that people who know nothing about the Bible will see God's powerful love in a contemporary film.
Yes! Even forgiving God when we are angry because we can't see his greater plan, but mostly forgiving those that hurt us. When we don't forgive the hurt never goes away.
Worst film I've seen in a long time. Religion is truly the darkest poison.
I'm not at all religious but I do think that some religious stories can be entertaining so long as they don't shove the religion down your throat, which I feel this movie did. I think it would have been way more entertaining if the three entities were demons pretending to be God/Trinity.
I don't normally like these kind of christian films and I don't think this was a good film but it's more entertaining than those "pure flix" movies and whoever makes the courageous/fire proof films. You can tell this one at least had a budget over 20 million. It's a polished film at least. 6/10 from me

I haven't seen it, but he meets three characters in the shack who I believe represent the Trinity, so definitely a bizarre take on Christianity.
