One of my favorite dark humor movies. I wouldn't change a thing. I wish Bud Cort would have been in more movies, he was so good in this, his timing and facial expressions were spot on. His scenes with the mother were perfection.. but, the whole cast was great!
I really wish they had the soundtrack available for purchase.

Yes, this is also one of my all time favorites! It probably has one of the most profound messages in film.
Wes Anderson often pays homage to the film, using Cat Stevens songs in Rushmore and casting Bud Cort in The Life Aquatic.
Why they never properly released a soundtrack is a mystery to me. At least we have most of the songs spread onto some of Stevens' albums (Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for Tillerman).

I agree, it's such a great movie. I love the humour it still makes me laugh especially the scene with Maude, Harold and his Uncle, it has a great message about life and the soundtrack is perfect.

I liked it a lot more than I expected... I can see how it has influenced Wes Anderson

I LOVED this film to death! To be honest, I'm almost scared to watch it again because I'm afraid it won't live up to the impact from the first viewing. Or it might be too powerful. I don't remember it that well.
