Discuss Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Sure, it has some weak spots and loopholes, but the graphics and cinematography are amazing. It may not be a classic, but it is refreshingly different from much of the other dribble that is coming out. But the visual just blew me away.

As did I.

I enjoyed it. The CGI in this film is fantastic.

I liked and really enjoyed it too. Loved the visuals, graphics, CGI and cinematography. I didn't think the actors were bad either- I've seen way worse.

I read most of the Valérian comics when I was in my teens so I was looking forward to see it finally adapted to the big screen. I loved it and couldn't understand the negative reviews by critics when other more boring and average films got higher ratings than this.Sure it's not a masterpiece but it had amazing and imaginative graphics and cinematography,it stuck pretty close to the original source material,it is one of the very few films I've seen over the years where the 3D is effectively used where it adds to the viewing experience.I found the movie to be refreshing after so many superhero films and franchise sequels and reboots and aplaude it's daring to be different. As for the characters and story well from what I remember about the comics is that Valérian was a bit nuckle-headed,lazy,not the one to question orders, always (despite being a time traveller which is a running gag in the comics)late,a bit of a party guy,a man of action rather than overthinking his next move, and despite being in love with Laureline known for going astray with other women so DeHaan's performance was quite spot on.Just like in the movie Laureline is the one who has to kick his butt to get things done from Valérian and is actually the clever one of the two.

Best Space Fantasy movie in a long time... And I'm generally not a fan of the genre...

Agree, some real weak parts and cheese but I don't care it was still great!

.......but the movie is a lost opportunity for the cult movie!
