These two have become friends way too fast. I liked it better in Fast 7 when they were fighting each other through the whole movie.
I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here- https://youtu.be/4xfnsgokSQk

It's typical... they did the "meet cute" already... now it's time for them to date, then break up, then a "grand gesture" by the needier one, then they fall truly in love and commit to one another... it's a standard romantic-comedy trope, now applied to these post-modern man-children...
The bromance is where it will head to, because without Paul Walker's masculine, heterosexual magnetism, the series was always going to devolve into a boy-man asexual spectacle and eventually it will go full bromance in a episode or two...
P.S. An unrelated suggestion, I like reading your comments, but could you please consider applying some formatting (italics, a line-break, etc..) to your signature line? It makes it easier to read your comment and is more aesthetically pleasing... Just a suggestion...
their "rivalry" comes from the events (thus mostly wears off after motivations are explained), but most of it is who is the most badass and best at fighting
Makes sense. They left it wide open what with Hobbs on leave. Honestly I'm surprised we haven't seen multiple spinoffs already. I'd love to see a movie with just Roman and Tej for instance.

I bet they are debating it. They may just be worried that those two on their own may not be able to draw a crowd. I think they could but they most likely wouldn't draw a billion dollars. I could see something in the 300-500 million dollar range, which is still pretty good if they produce it on the right budget.

When Tyrese Gibson was having his spat with The Rock for "breaking up the family" I seem to remember claims that he'd been offered, but turned down, a spin off because he wanted to keep the family intact.

What's funny is if you google a Tej/Roman spinoff, around 2015 Ludacris said he'd love to do one. Tyrese may have talked a spinoff out of happening when there actually was interest and one willing participant (Ludacris).

While I do wish Deckard was still a cold hearted villain I am glad he is a good guy now or at most an antihero.

I hope they get the whole Shaw family to appear in the spinoff film with Helen Mirren and Luke Evans returning.

There were those stories about The Rock and Vin falling out over who was the Alpha Dog of the series, so a spin-off makes sense.

Paul Walker was clearly the alpha of the lot of them...

They are the series' most fun characters so I can see this working. That jail break was probably the best scene in the last film.
