Which means the movie is mostly made up, or at least in this movie, the final scene.
In fact, the movie goes a long way into making our protagonist look like a legitimate, honest prospector, but the final scene kind of kills all of that.
For instance, when hes being interviewed by the FBI, he mentions that it was during the couple weeks that he was suffering from malaria, is when Acosta hatched and implemented his fraud. Whats even better is, ** SPOILER ALERT**, there was no one left alive the FBI could interview to argue against Wells story.
Plus, do we actually have any idea if what the character was telling the FBI is actually what the REAL Kenny Wells told the FBI? Is there a book out about this incident?

For me the final scene was also a big downer. I think if he used that money he has to tell the bank from where he got the money and so on ...
