Thanks for the heads up..... was contemplating giving it ago but uve made up my mind ;)

hey... thanks for the reply.... I wasn't sure if anybody would ever read.... this thing with IMDB is ridiculous.. I'm hoping this site can pick up where that one left off.

its a very nice thing to be able to watch a movie... and then go to a site and read people's comments about the movie you just watched.

That's a shame, I finished the movie and thought it was pretty good. A lot better than The Informant which is what it reminded me of, but all in all I thought the story was compelling enough that I looked it up online and found out that it was based on the real life Bre-X gold mining scandal in 1998 that I had never heard of before (I was about 13 years old at the time).

It's not going to win any Oscars but it's an ok way to spend two hours, the soundtrack was pretty good - I didn't think the writing was as bad as you said and the performances were pretty good. Nothing spectacular but I'd give it a solid 2.5-3 out of 5.

I thought it was pretty good, but I like these kinds of movies and the performances were solid, in particular Bryce Dallas Howard.. It is missing something though...

Yeah, something about it is similar to The Informant

I think you shouldn't make a statement about a movie you didn't even fully watch. I mean, "Training Day" as an example. Boring as hell for he first hour, but in the end, that hour was needed and the movie turned out to be amazing! You never know what's in store. Anyway, I thought the movie was fine. Not great, but not bad either. The ending was actually quite good. And I mean the whole ending, not just the last scene.

Maybe next time you should finish a movie before posting about it.

Its not like this was some poorly made student film, its an actual STORY, and sometimes stories take a while to be fully "fleshed out"

It's funny because it's the ending that is best part of this movie. The last 20-30 minutes, and I don't want to reveal too much because of the spoilers, that are actually tying all parts of this movie together, showing the events of this movie in a different light and bringing it to proper conclusion. I know this movie is too long and dragging too much on the eccentric character of Kenny, but the ending is kinda awakening and proposes a bit unusual moral conclusion about what it takes to be a success in this world. The ending is what makes this movie, too bad you didn't finish it.

I didn't like it either. I watched a good hour and a half then fell asleep. When I woke up I saw the last minute of the film and the twist reveal. Very boring film. I can see why the critics tore with this one apart now. I read a little bit about the real story this was loosely based on and that was more interesting than this film.

I really enjoyed it, but I went in with low expectations (thanks to you guys). I've actually recommended it to quite a few people since watching it, and it inspired me to spend a good hour or so reading all about the original backstory. Fascinating tale - stranger than the fiction.

I thought it was pretty uninteresting too. But then the last half hour was really good.
