I hate to say it, but I ended up liking this film. It is in some weird way ultimately ironic. I was ready to blast the "current generation of gamers" with their own flawed view of "virtual reality" gaming only to realize we are all caught in the net.
I really didn't want to like it, but in the end I had to concede. Indeed, this might be the film that defines a generation, even mine.

Well they did put a incredible amount of work into this flick, and it's a mixture of romance, action & adventure, drama and sci-fi. It did very well at the box office, but I'm not so sure if the movie was well received as the producers had hoped. Then again; I have no idea how they thought about that. I know it made a profit, but with the high tech look and interesting plot points; I was under the impression (based on how often I kept seeing the trailer for it) they expected this to be really huge...kind of like how Black Panther was received at the box office. Still; they can't be too disappointed with how it did at the box office.
