I went into this expecting the worst, but found it was actually quite good...
I usually don't like narration in movies, but somehow it fit this movie's theme... with the main character reflecting on the love, sexuality and interpersonal experiences in her life...
Visually quite nice and the digital bits didn't really detract from the day-dream aesthetic...
The narration is a bit on-the-nose at times, but the film is certainly more than just scenes of attractive people caressing one another softly in the sunset...

Good, but not for everyone.
Music and composition were supposed to make this film better, but the director pursued “experimentalism” and the movie came out too empty and long. As the characters manipulated each other, the director and the operator manipulate the viewer through a shaking camera, wide angle lens, pseudo-documentary, provocative scenes and portraiture. Too distracting, in my opinion, but there is something in it.

Been trying to catch up on movies I missed the past few years, gave this a chance because of Malick. Not my taste at all. Ryan seems to love playing roles where he gets cheated on. The story basically boils down to Ryan's girlfriend cheating on him, her sleeping around post breakup, then Ryan forgiving her and them getting back together again. Maybe this is just me being cynical but taking back someone who cheated on you just makes you look like a colossal idiot, man or woman.
