I'm hoping we'll see it hook up with the rebel ship which has the 8-track player with ripping software, so we can then see the data digitally encoded and then beamed back to the Tantive IV with Vader in hot pursuit.

That needs to happen pre-ANH for the films to tie up so I've got my still got my fingers crossed for an announcement this weekend...

But, what if Vader gets to the ship before the data is sent? Wouldn't they need to, I don't know, put the data in a droid and jettison it in an escape pod?

Well, yes, that goes without saying - but first the data needs to be beamed to the Tantive IV as per ANH.

We also need a period of time to pass so sense can be made of the requirement for the Death Star to need for further "final check-outs" having not just been extensively tested...

All to be seen in Rogue One II hopefully!

Call it Rogue 2 or Rogue Awakens or Rogue Ingifinity or Rogue One Rises or Game of Rogues or Rogueworld or One Rogue Flew Over The Deathstar or anything apArt from Rogue One II lol

If Vader intercepted the data, it would cause a hole in the space/time continuum, erasing Star Wars completely, from ever existing. Imagine a life with no light-sabres!!

Obi-wan would be alive, Luke would have two hands to help Uncle Owen, and we could have a wicked party on Jabba's barge!
