Maybe it's because it arrived in cinemas close to my 11th Birthday so I have nostalgia towards it. But I really do love this movie. Ok it's not as good as the original. But it's by far better than the 3rd entry. I think the only thing that hurts this movie is the final act. They should never have had the whole San Diego scene. That could have been an whole other movie. TLW has some great action sequences and a very good cast led by the always awesome Jeff Goldblum. I would love it if he appears in a future JW sequel.

Yeah good film. And at the time it was amazing, I was a kid too and I remember having a top 10 of favorite films back then and I had Jurassic Park in my top 3 :) I thought the second one was ok, mostly I didn't care for it but I loved the scene on the bus, that was so exciting. The third one I didn't like at all really. And the new one I was really impressed with. I usually hate modern movies, especially reboots and remakes but that new one was surprisingly good. I think they could have made the girl less pathetic without making her into an action movie cliche, and I thought it tended to be more violent than exciting and tense, which I think is a cop out, but overall I liked it. But yeah the original is better than all of them.
p.s. Do you like the game Space Rangers?

Yeah I thought the movie was ending after the rescue from the island, then they started a whole other film. Maybe they were going for a double feature. 😄
I think the raptor field hunt was one of the scariest scenes in any of the films. Shot in moonlight with the high grass, it almost felt like a shark attack.

@microscope haha I didn't even know there was a game named Space Rangers. Just googled it.
No my name comes from the fact that I've worked for Disney since 2006 and I play the character Buzz Lightyear in Disneyland Parks.

Haha yep the third one is that bad. I never understood why it ended at 1h20mins. That running time cheapened an already poor movie. I felt like the movie might have been better if they'd had an extra 20-30 minutes building characters. Though to be honest I hated all the characters bar Dr Alan Grant in the third one.

Ahh cool! :) Space Rangers 2 is one of my favorite games :) It is pretty low budget but fun at what it does.

If people consider this one to be better than 3, then wow! I never want to see part 3 then. This one was hard to watch because it felt like everybody was a moron.
