I think it would have lasted for a brief time, maybe a year or so. I think you're right, that eventually when it became known by more people they would no longer be together.

I think about myself, and I know some people in my family would just want me to be happy no matter who I was in a relationship with. I realize that it isn't everyone's nature to do that. Ginger fooled me, but with Calpernia, even though semi passable, you couldn't hide it.

I've only known a few guys who were in relationships with transsexuals and what I noticed is that neither of them had a job and lived a different sort of life. I wondered if it's because people knew they were with a transsexual so they would be sexually harassed on the job and would eventually quit.

One, who was with a trans friend of mine, people did seem to think he was gay due to his mannerism even though he had been married to a woman before and fathered a child. I guess he was bisexual. It's funny because that's something you don't hear people talk about so much but some of the men are 'gay acting' or slightly fem and fey. Every transsexual I've known said at some point they met a guy online and when they met they would've sworn he was gay even though he denies it.

Both of these relationships were rocky, though, and both didn't last longer than 5 years. One died (murdered) and I don't know what became of the other one.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I've heard that most strictly gay men are not attracted to trans women. I guess for me, I would think if they are into the male body or body type, they wouldn't be interested in a feminine male to female transsexual. A bisexual man would make more sense to me, I suppose. I am sorry to hear about your friend.
