One of the least regrettable DVD purchases I've had in a decade. A no brainer. Another guy was at the shelf when I walked up and had it in his hand during off-peak shopping time for a weekday.
Popped it in right when I got home on my big screen. Wow! Incredible! Deserves every award and nomination it gets!
The first action scene is one of the best action scenes I have ever seen in history!
I was balling like a baby at the end. Took me several minutes to dry up. I must've cried at least 5 times at different, various parts throughout the movie. This guy was such a great hero!
One person on Facebook said she owes Desmond her life bc he saved her grandfather on that Ridge and she wouldn't be alive if it weren't for him. Her granddad won two purple hearts in that battle, too. Amazing, incredible true stories all around it!
This is going to clean up in sales.

As a project of interest, someone should track and document the lives of every soldier saved by Doss that day. What became of their lives? What did they go on to achieve? What kind of legacies have sprung from that fateful day? What kind of stories can be written as a result of Doss' heroics?

Just curious. Did you watch it in the theatres first?
A hero who exemplified courage under fire. I read that director Mel Gibson did not include the other heroic acts of Mr. Doss for fear that the audience would be in disbelief. When your valor is thought to be fictional, that's probably a good sign you are a real-life superhero.
