Discuss Jason Bourne

Predictable, no real suspense and the action was disappointing. Big name actors Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander were a bad "fit" and played their characters as if they were sleepwalking: totally bland.

Eliminating Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) so early on was a mistake. It marked the end of the Bourne Trilogy ("The Bourne Identity", " The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum") and the beginning of...what exactly?

Was it the intention to then combine her and Landy's characters into one: Heather Lee?
Then they failed, as Lee was more like one of the Deputy Directors of the CIA who, as head of the Cyber Ops Division, also had the skills of Parsons. She was ambitious and cold-blooded, but lacked compassion and morals.

Characters like Mary Kreutz, Nicky Parsons and Pamela Landy gave Jason Bourne more depth. Lee did not add to, but substracted from the overall complexity of Bourne's ambiguity: he wants to be left alone, but he also wants to know the truth about his past. He wants peace and quiet, to avoid his adversaries, but also seeks them out. So he then becomes the prey and the hunter, again and again.

The car chase and fight at the end look spectacular, but don't really impress.

The twist is no surprise: a recorded message. Bourne isn't fooled by Lee, he knows she's just a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Should there be a sequel?

I never understood all the fuss about this one.

I thought it was a blast. Vincent Cassel had a great character and awesome dynamic with Bourne.

It's like people just decided it was the time to stop liking Bourne films.
