My vote would be yes. The action was more diverse and better choreographed. I also found that the inner workings of The Continental to be better fleshed out this time. All in all, an excellent sequel!

I was very pleased by it - they definitely ramp up the action, and the way they ended the film was absolutely perfect. I'd be surprised if there weren't a third film - they're already talking about it.

This was a very good sequal and I enjoyed it immensely. The fight scenes were well choreographed and reminded me of The Raid. I enjoyed being able to dive deeper into the criminal underworld established by the first one. I rank Chapter Two slightler lower than the first one only because I thought that the emotional scars of his wife's death and the death of the dog helped give John Wick a more relatable reason for going on a killing spree.

I enjoyed the movie but it does not surpass the original in my opinion for two main reasons. First, nothing beats the classic raw revenge tale and it's hard to recapture that magic (examples: Robocop, Taken). Secondly, I don't like when they leave it blatanly open for a sequel.
What I did like was the action scenes and the expansion to the John Wick universe that showed more facets of the intriguing underground world.
P.S. I think Common might still be alive.

Definitely better than the first. When I first saw John Wick, it immediately became my favorite action movie and then I saw Chapter 2 and THAT one immediately became my favorite. A very worthy sequel to the original. I've already seen it twice in the theater, and I have never before done that with any movie.

I say "yes" and so does my autistic teenage son. Definitely worth the price of admission and "action packed" doesn't encompass all the action.

I find it hard to say which of the two is better, but it is certaintly equal.
The first film had a relatable rage and a great premise. This film misses out on that to a certain extent.
In the first film however, there was something I disliked, the introduction of the secret criminal world. The film suddenly went from a relativly plausible world to a fantastic comic book world, which I found quite jarring.
The odd thing is, I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to buy into that world, I mean, just imagine the practical difficulties of staffing a hotel for assassins. However once I was inside that world, I could totally believe the rules. This film starts and stays in that world, so there is no jarring transition. I was more comfortable and able to suspend my disbelief more. Also exploring that world further was interesting.
All in all, a very worthwhile sequel.

i prefer the first one because it works more as a stand-alone film and had more of a dream-like cinematic feel... a lot more mood and atmosphere, not as much exposition and explaining as was in the second...
the second is pretty close though, with the really cool action scenes (warehouse & mirror scenes in particular)

He's surely alive. The fact that a few scenes later on has Laurence Fishburne saying JW did a similar thing (hold his neck or he'd die) confirms it for me.
For the record I preferred this to the first one...as someone else mentioned, it fleshes out the story more and there are plenty more action scenes.

I think the first one is just a notch above the sequel. Huge fan of both.
