The Sony email drama revealed that Aaron Sorkin lobbied for Tom Cruise (star of Sorkin's previous film A Few Good Men) to star as Jobs in this movie. He looks nothing like him, but I could really see it. He is just the kind of manic energy to capture the essence of Jobs. With him in the title role the film may have done better at the box office and gotten more attention at awards season and gotten Cruise's career back on the rails so he could start doing serious work again. What do you think?

The problem is he'd still sound like Aaron Sorkin, just like every character in the film apart from seth rogen's, who still sounded like seth rogen.
The film was too Sorkin dominant in my opinion, and I say this as someone who usually likes his work on The West Wing and in The Social Network.
I think Boyle should have exercised his authorial voice more clearly in the film
