Not with a twitch but with a giggle. A couple of questions - I think I missed some key dialogue - I thought the house had burned down with Brahms in it - did they rebuild it? How did her abusive ex find out where she was staying? Why was she so willing to go along with the doll fantasy - a normal person would have headed for the hills straight away. How did a hulk like Brahms succeed in moving the doll about without being noticed? How do people survived being knifed in chest and recover with no medical intervention. Why did the parents hire a nanny - surely they could have left and just disappeared. Why all "the rules" ? What did Brahms eat? Why do they keep on ending films like this in exactly the same fashion?

If you notice the exterior of the house, there's a black area around a window way at the top that is apparently where the fire was. It was probably isolated just to that area.
The abusive ex was told by Greta's sister's daughter on the phone the address where Greta was. This is mentioned in a phone call between Greta and her sister.
Going along instead of heading for the hills was I think because it was easy money. Plus the crazy couple were gone, so she wasn't in the house WITH them.
As for Brahms being a hulk and not being noticed, he took opportunities when she was not in the room (in the shower, deliberately waiting for the doll to move to show the grocery boy, etc.)
I don't know how people survive being stabbed in the chest.... that's a great movie mystery!
The parents wanted to "give" Brahms a girl. Since he was an adult and no longer needed Mommy and Daddy, he wanted a woman. So they got one for him.
And up in the attic or in the passageway or wherever he was hiding out, Greta made a comment "He's got everything he needs." His parents provided for him and gave him everything he wanted, hence, "The Rules" and all that.

Thank you Jann - I definitely missed some dialogue !! It is nice to have a response on this site - it doesn't happen often!! For all its faults, I miss the IMDB community section.
