Interesting choice of film to attach this year's list to - the 1969 list may be hard to track down in future!

  1. Kes (Ken Loach)
  2. Midnight Cowboy (John Schlesinger)
  3. They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (Sydney Pollack)
  4. This Man Must Die (Claude Chabrol)
  5. My Night at Maud's (Eric Rohmer)
  6. Z (Costa-Gavras)
  7. The Cow (Dariush Mehriu)
  8. Women in Love (Ken Russell)
  9. Diary of a Shinjuku Thief (Nagisa Oshima)
  10. Take the Money and Run (Woody Allen)

I saw another poster (that has posted their lists) mention it somewhere. I suppose I could change it to something more well known?

No, no need to do that!

It might be worth going back at sometime and adding links to the adjoining years? I've been doing this to set up a 'top ten trail' which should make most of the lists more easily accessible. Hopefully over time more folks will come across them and add their own lists.

Anyway, I shall kick off the 1950s now...

Just click the link in the first post.

I think The Thing With Two Heads has a competitor.

I would add that to my list to make it 9 but it's not feature length so it would be kinda cheating.

HAHA, for YEARS, I'd wondered about that title, but leave it to the internet to finally make it accessible for me.

I see they've got numerous sequels to the film, too
