Can you imagine how hard it must have been for Ginger to get all the converted words right while singing and being filmed in an unforgiving single-shot extreme close-up? I've never been able to do Pig Latin, period. For her to be able to do much of a song like that and not mess any of it up is commendable.

For Miss Rogers It wasn't hard at all.

And if you'd like to sing along, here is the chorus:
"E're-way in-ay the oney-may"
"E're-way in-ay the oney-may"
"E're-way ot-gay a-lay ot-lay of-way ot-way it-way akes-tay o-tay et-gay a-lay-ong-lay, oh."

It's easier if you used to have your own secret language as a child.

I never spoke Pig Latin as a child, I thought it was dumb.

Same here! Whenever I see Rogers perform that number in this film, I'm decidedly awestruck. It may have been easy for her, though I'm with you, brat, that "I can't make heads or tails of it!" It's impressive how entirely nonchalantly Ginger pulls it off - and in a single extreme-close-up take no less!

I haven't seen her do it, I've only heard the song. I actually find the part you all are discussing to be a little creepy - not unlike Robert De Niro in Cape Fear speaking in tongues, it seems almost devilish. I like the song, though.

(The link for the movie clip in question is in brat's 1st post further above.) I know what you mean. It's a little bit like singing possessed - albeit happily and agreeably possessed! Being "In the Money" could I guess do that to a person. lol

This (the non pig-Latin lyrics) is the song millions of Americans will be singing in the coming days and weeks upon receiving a $1,200 Coronavirus Stimulus payment direct deposit or check after having no income in recent weeks.
Here's the full Gold Diggers of 1933 "We're In the Money" number and scene.

Still waiting for mine. I've checked my account a couple of times today, still nothing.

I'm not 100% sure I'll be getting one (though know of no reason why I shouldn't), as I checked the new IRS Coronavirus "Get My Payment" website today, however got the screen response "Payment Status Not Available. According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time." Hmmm. Hopefully there's just a kink in the new site, and a more agreeable response will result when looking again in the coming days.
One of my nieces says she knows a co-worker who received their Stimulus check direct deposit payment last Friday.

Supposedly they started on Saturday (maybe Friday). Did you file a tax return for 2019 or 2018? If you did, yes you will get one. But they will need your bank information to direct deposit it. Otherwise, you will get a paper check unless you send them your bank info quickly? I read that the website is slightly overwhelmed, so try later.

Yes, I filed taxes in March of last year for 2018 (haven't yet filed for 2019), and did receive both Federal and State refunds. Unfortunately, I didn't set them up to be direct-deposited. I was hoping, today, to be able to add my direct-deposit information to the IRS Stimulus payment website, though wasn't able to due to the site not being able to find my entry.

I'm retired & collect SS through direct deposit, so they have all my info. I was hoping mine would have arrived already? I have plans for at least half of it (essential things I haven't been able to afford).
