I didn't really mind this film - at least I watched it through to the end which is a feat in itself these days. I had to wonder why it didn't sink in that Bo had some use for the aliens when he was passed over at least twice. I also wondered at how that spaceship contained at least a couple of thousand massive metal robots and goodness knows how many drones. It was also quite shocking how Bo survived acting as a human conduit to a massive surge of electricity, and last but not least - was that the only spaceship left after a global invasion or did they really accomplish nothing at all ?

I had the same thoughts as you after watching this. Not entirely bad and kinda watchable. Felt like the director was trying to be the next Neill Blomkamp, but is really the bargain basement version. And Lee Pace's acting was...disappointing. Particularly the last scene of him being a human conduit for electricity. Its like even he knew it was a pretty bad concept.
I also wondered why the Dr was suddenly written out of the story. What was her purpose? It wasn't like the film went down the route of saving her. Then the aliens/robots themselves. They have these super blasters and throughout the film they are shown to be practically undefeatable unless ambushed by approximately a dozen heavily armed men. Yet at the end they are taken down by sticks and stones by a crowd people all bunched together running in circles like headless chickens.
