I felt so bad for Warren Beatty and Faye, also the producers of La La Land. When the guy was like "Oh, we lost by the way"... Ouch.

I know. For them to be put in that position. Warren felt the need to explain himself. Not your fault Warren.

The La La Land people were really gracious, though. And if I were Warren I would have defended myself, too, haha

I think the La La Land people were very gracious, apart from the "we lost btw" guy. He made his speech knowing they didn't win and he just lengthened the time it took to correct things.

Right. Also, it was Faye who announced La La Land... and now that Emma Stone confirmed she had her envelope with her the whole time, I wonder what the hell actually happened.

There's a briefcase holding the envelopes containing winners on either side of the stage (therefore two copies of the winners envelope). Leo and Warren came in on opposite sides and there was just a mishandling of the envelope to Warren it seems.

The whole scene was very high on the cringe meter. I don't know what was cringier: the "We lost, by the way" guy, Warren's apology, or the fact that no one will remember any of the Moonlight victory speeches, because they've been overshadowed by all this envelope drama. Woof, what a trainwreck.

The streaker in 1974 was pretty funny, so was Marlon Brando's boycott (The year he won!), but I have to feel sorry for Warren, Faye, and the producers of La La Land, someones gonna get the sack for sure!

Yep, while the second(?) La La Land guy was giving his speech - the one about dreams - you could see the "we lost btw" guy being told it in the background (and shaking his head at being told) yet he still went up to the mic. The others were so gracious, he acted like a temperamental child imo.

I cringe at a lot of stuff while watching TV but sh*t like this is funny and awesome. I mean, let's be honest here, we only watch the Oscars to see people mess up and that's what happened. Same applies to ANY live TV broadcast.
Regarding their speeches: no one ever remembers a single sentence anyway...

Oh, I didn't realize that. Woof, talk about awkward.

I hate award shows; but, I love when such stuff happens.
Not only is it amusing to see and hear about...but, we get to enjoy it SO MUCH MORE because you know that comedians and late night shows all over the globe are going to have a field day poking fun!
