First off, GREAT film..didn't take long to get going & reeled me right in..FULL attention!
BUT...it really didn't paint the best picture for their "founder" (notice the quotes), and depicts the REAL McDonald brothers as sappy, goodie, goodie, small business owners that had their restaurant and good name practically STOLEN from them!
Makes me wanna boycott McDonalds if anything!

I've never seen this film - although I must check it out when I get a chance. But wanted to say that if you enjoyed the story you really should try to find the book "Behind the Golden Arches" by John F Love.
Not sure if the film was based on the book but I picked it up just by chance years ago whilst backpacking and the tale really stuck with me (must read it again). Yes, you could say the McDonald brothers lost out but I think the truth was that whatever they got in the end (was it a million dollars or something?) actually seemed like a generous "gift" in the end from Kroc - these guys would never have ran with it the way Kroc did. The only reason we can retrospectively even view that they were in some way ripped off was because of what Kroc did with the brand / system.
Well, at least that's how that book portrayed how events played out. Not sure if the film was any different...

FLICK SOUNDS RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE BOOK...THOSE BROTHERS WERE CONTENT BEING THE COOL SPOT IN TOWN,THEY NEVER WOULD HAVE EXPANDED OR INOVATED ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE LASTED...KROC SAW THE RING AND RECOGNIZED NO ONE ELSE WAS EVEN REACHING FOR IT...GOOD FOR HIM.

I guess that's a good point...now that the dust has settled and I've had time to process the film, I can see BOTH sides of the coin. Personally, I'm a "play it safe" type...the type that if I'm up hundreds of dollars at the Roulette table..I cash out (I won't go for thousands)! So I guess I related to the McD Brothers a little bit more.
Still man, Kroc couldn't leave well enough alone & RUN THEM out of BUSINESS...opening a McDonald's across the street from their original business? Low blow man!

Let's not forget Kroc was failing at selling blenders prior to his McDonalds discovery. And he didn't look like a young man, either. Funny thing about success is, it makes you want to keep on being successful.

McDonalds didn't mind Super Size Me either.
