if only everything there can migrate here. well baby steps...wonder how it will be for me after 20th Feb.

Liked this movie, great story - so sad esp when he sent the milkshake to the brothers, and that handshake.

thoroughly enjoyed this film as it helped to explain to me how his gigantic corporation launched and the sheer resilience of its founder is nothing short of inspirational. the fact he cheated the owners out of lifelong trailing commissions is a bit of a sour point but the sheer amount of hard work and effort kroc poured into this venture with unwavering doubt is nothing but inspirational.

My fave scene was when the brothers were at the tennis court, practicing how to make their kitchen speedy yet effective. At first I was rooting for Kroc with the franchise - like he cared about the product etc. Then towards the end...just mad cos I felt so sad for the brothers - their restaurant slipping away from them and I still can't believe that other than the cheque they got nothing afterwards. With how big Mc Donalds is now, though they won't be happy with the current condition of fast food.

Great acting from 3 of them!

Kroc went from somebody you could somewhat like to someone you totally despised. I found the movie interesting more for how the Mcdonald Brothers came up with their business. Than how they were ultimately screwed over. I mean sure the acting is great in this movie. But its not something i would watch again. But the movie dose give me more reasons to avoid McDonalds.

That transition didn't make a lot of sense, or at least lacked explanation. Why the sudden take up with Joan and his desire for a divorce from his first wife? Why the need to lock her out of the business so completely? Why the need to screw the Mac bros or to put a water hose into the mouth of a struggling competitor? I get it that this sort of ruthlessness was part of Kroc's makeup but are we really to believe this was a product of his success or a necessary change to ensure that success? Seems to me the guy must always have been a crook and it defeats me why the movie felt the need to depict him as a struggling battler who turned bad.

As for the op, never again will I invest adding content to a commercial site after imdb so gratuitously flushed it all down the gurgler. Talk about corporate contempt.

I don't despise him. He turned each McD guy into a millionaire which at the time was massive, they kept their original restaurant and could run it any way they wanted and grow it any way they wanted, especially with all that money. I think they got a decent deal. Krok was harsh but I feel like they kind of had it coming by being so unfair to him when he was trying to earn a living early on and fighting him with everything he wanted to do instead of trying to work with him.
