According to the TMDB Guidelines:
"The translated title should be the first official translation. In other words, the title of the first—theatrical, physical, digital or TV—release."
In other words, the translated title field should be the title that was used when the film was first translated into English for distribution in countries with an English-speaking audience, not the literal English translation of the title.
The film was first shown in the US on the Criterion Channel of Hulu in 2015 as KAISHA MONOGATARI: MEMORIES OF YOU. That is the title that is still being used on the current Criterion Channel:

I always go through content issues reports in chronological order. So if you keep unnecessarily bumping your post, it will take a lot more time before I get to it.

Don't bump before the two months deadline. I'm sometimes very close to two months, but I work really hard to never cross it.

It’s been more than five months. Why was this issue closed when it hasn’t been resolved?

@michaelhutchins you can see that I made the change you requested on October 27, and that another moderation changed the title back to The Story of a Company in December. I'm not sure why you would you assume I haven't read your report?

Since the title is currently wrong, I assumed, incorrectly, that it had never been corrected. Can you unlock this and tell the person who keeps changing it that the title they're using is wrong? Or is there a way I can contact them? I've noticed they're entering literal English translations for many Japanese films, and not using the released English title of the films. Thank you.

As far as I know, they're usually using the English title used by the Japanese producer (which is fine when there is no English release). But I do need to talk to them before changing it back to heard their side (maybe we've missing a release?) and/or make sure the title isn't changed again.

The official English title reported by Kinema Junpo is "The Story of a Company". However, I do notice that some new information has become available in the form of Shochiku's entry for this film on their English website, which does use the English title "Memories of You". I believe this is an error, however. Shochiku's English-language website lists the original Japanese title as only "会社物語" and not "会社物語 MEMORIES OF YOU". Shochiku has plenty of other films on their website with no English title and just a transcribed title instead. Whoever was editing the site probably made a mistake in believing that the English-language part of the Japanese-language title is actually a separate English title. Even the Criterion streaming-only geoblocked release uses their own title "Kaisha Monogatari: Memories of You" not just "Memories of You".
In this case, I believe it should be obvious that, with its possibility of inaccurate entry, Shochiku's English website cannot be used to source the film's primary English title, and that Kinema Junpo is the most authoritative source - and it reports "The Story of a Company". I also have to say that I don't appreciate the insinuation by michaelhutchins that I "enter literal English translations for many Japanese films, and not using the released English title of the films". That could not be further from the truth.

Okay, but if we follow the guidelines for translated titles (i.e. first release in an English language country)...

The first release of this film in an English-language country, of which I'm aware, was when the film was streamed on Hulu's Criterion Channel in 2015. It subsequently streamed on FilmStruck and the current Criterion Channel. In all cases the film is titled KAISHA MONOGATARI: MEMORIES OF YOU. Here's is contemporaneous review of the film when it first appeared on Hulu.

I have been unable to find any physical release of this film in any English language country.

It's been more than a year, and the title for this film has not been corrected. Since it's locked, I'm unable to do it. Can a moderator please make the correction?
