What was supposed to be a $140-$170 million opening weekend forecast turned out to be $118 & a so-so $258 Worldwide (ouchy)...for a movie that cost 200 million+
I'm just gonna leave this here and would love to debate the Disneyheads that love fondling the mouse's little testicles...THE SERIES SHOULD'VE ENDED WITH TOY STORY 3!!!! The Andy grew up & gave them away and that was all the closure we needed. This was made STRICTLY for the $$$. Pixar is notorious for putting a good story ahead anything else, but I guess since Disney bought them out...the bosses said "bring on the lame ass sequels"!

With Hollywood Accounting, a successful movie can be a failure, and a failure can be a success if they need/want it to be for propaganda reasons. Hollywood does not operate on standard business or financial axioms, like the rest of us do.

Toy Story movies always have long legs at the box office, this will probably be the 2nd one to hit $1 billion.
Won't be getting any cash from me though!

If it hits a billion I think Disney will greenlight a fifth Toy Story. Perhaps a billion is the magic number. If it makes less, no fifth, if it makes over a billion there will be a fifth. That might be Disney's strategy. They could release another one in 2025/26.
Must admit, they could have adults find out the toys are alive. That might be a way to refresh the franchise.

Are you SURE Toy Story 4 has underperformed?
