I thought this movie was excellent. Very well done all around. I just have 3 minor nitpicks:

  1. The end, after the last battle, seems to drag for a while. Not sure why, but it seems to be far too long.

  2. I have read the book twice and distinctly remember that Tig went into the burning building looking for the ambassador and ended up saving Tyrone and possibly Jack Silva. In the movie, Jack saved Tyrone in the burning building when he got lost in the smoke. Not sure why this detail was changed.

  3. Whoever did the sound effects for Silva's M4 was an idiot! Sounded horrible for his gunshots, but everyone else's, including M4s, sounded just fine. WTF?

Otherwise I think this movie was great and actually had great pacing throughout. I am curious as to what the 4 hour version cut out, though! (note this is not a real version, but trivia stated that the first cut was 4 hours before additional editing and release)

Mav, just curious, did you like the movie Act of Valor? Interesting about the 4 hour version of 13 Hours. Too bad they couldn't put it/some version of it on an extended DVD ~ I'd buy it.

Yes and no to your question. I eventually did enjoy it, but not the first time. Yes, the acting is pretty bad, but I also did enjoy the battle scenes. It also helps that the ending is (very loosely) based on the real story of SEAL Mike Monsoor.
