Yes, we all know that it will make a Billion, but we all know that the film was disappointingly bad. Of course the Rotten tomatoes score is about 20-30% inflated as we all know it would be, because: Vagina. If you actually read the 'positive' reviews , they all go something like this: "despite being bad, it had some good bits".
So yeah, the worst MCU film to date. This is my Ranking:

I'll start off with what worked. The first half of the film was OK. Samuel L Jackson was good. The skrull effects were good. The plot kind of held together.
OK, what went wrong? Well above all the films flaws, the most disappointing thing for me was Brie Larssons's performance. In a sequel everything else could be ironed out, but Brie Larsson seems both miscast and unable to bring a commanding peformance to the role. Pretty much everyone else on screen outshone her.
The second half of the film kind of made me think of an episode of Star Trek for some reason. And there were lots of special effects and action going on on screen, none of which I gave a shit about. That made me think of the recent Starwars films.
There was a scene in which Monica Rambo was telling Carol how she was the strongest person she had ever known. I understand that Captain Marvel is supposed to be a leader, which is why they were telling us this. But the film makers seem to have forgotten that they need to SHOW us this. Show don't tell. How hard of a concept is this?
There was the horrible out of place No Doubt track that played during a fight scene near the end. I don't know if that was a consequence of someone at Marvel editing the film later and trying to repair it by jazzing up the sound track. Anyway, it turned out to be the most awkward scene of the film.
What really stuck in my craw was the treatment of NIck Fury's character in this film. They fell into the classic "female empowerment" trap, where female empowerment means making a male character look stupid. Nick Fury is a badass. That is his superpower. We saw this in the Avengers when he grabbed a bazooka and took out a fighter jet. We saw this in The Winter Soldier when he was targeted by a Hydra team for assasination. He is always one step ahead.
Not in this film. He is there to make Captain Marvel look good by being the butt of every joke and going "woohoo" whenever a female character flies a jet. The way he lost his eye was lame and stupid.
There was periodically an insertion of feminist nonsense, like a guy telling Carol to smile, which apparently is sexual harrassment now, or something? Not sure what. Perhaps the sign of a chronically narcissistic and spoilt generation of females whose biggest problem is being told to smile? I used to get girls telling me to smile when I was a moody teenager, I guess I was sexually harassed all this time and never knew it. And then there were the flashbacks of all those sexist men telling Carol she wasn't good enough because she was a girl.
The scenes with Jude Law telling Carol she should control her emotions, because you know those sexist men always telling women how they are too emotional. Contrast this with the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy where Yondu tells Peter that he doesn't use his head to control the arrow. You have basically the same message, but here it is turned into crap by making it a turd-fling at men.
What about the mysterious pager that was teased in the post credit scene of Infinity war? Or the reason Fury never contacted her? Well the first question was answered in the most unimaginative linear way you could possibly imagine. She gives him a modified pager and says "you can call me with this, but only if it's really important OK?". So I guess that answered the second question too. I'm not sure how loki's invasion wasn't important enough, but hey whatever.
So all in all, the film was disjointed and formulaic. The main character was no character at all

ANTMAN AND WASP ,BLACK PANTHER ,CIVIL WAR AND CAPTAIN MARVEL ARE ALL ABOUT EQUAL.SOLID,FUN FLICKS.STRANGE IS SLIGHTLY BETTER BUT WEIGHED DOWN WITH A TON OF MYSTICAL SCIENCE EXPOSITION AND WORLD SETTING....SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING IS JUST SLIGHTLY AHEAD OF STRANGE....INFINITY WAR,GUARDIANS 2 AND THOR RAGNAROK(BLEW ME AWAY) ARE THE TOP TIER OF PHASE 3.TO BE CLEAR,THEY ARE ALL GOOD FLICKS,EVEN MY LEAST FAVORITE PHASE 3 FLICK;BLACK PANTHER IS STILL A 7,7.5 OUT OF 10 ON THE MARVEL SCALE.THE MCU DOES WHAT IT SETS OUT TO DO WITH A CONTINUAL HIGH LEVEL OF QUALITY.TOP NOTCH ACTION ADVENTURE FLICKS STARRING HEROES AND VILLAINS OF A MYTHOLOGICAL LEVEL.

Well i think this is the worst out all the MCU movies. The Story of the Skrull as refugees is pretty interesting and i actually cared somewhat for Ben Mendelsohn character. Its just to bad the movie is brought down by a acting sack of bricks known as Brie Larson. Thor 2, Iron Man 2&3, First Avenger all have the advantage of having likable, charismatic protagonist played by likable, charismatic actors. Captain Marvel is not likable because she has no personality and Brie Larson has no charisma. Gal Gadot is not a very good actress. But she dose have a personality in the role of Wonder Woman. Instead of Pushing this soulless character. Maybe they should give us a movie about a female character we can actually care about.
P.S. At least Reeve Superman showed that he cared about people. Brie Captain Marvel dosn't feel like she doing anything out of some duty to protect people.

I agree with many of your points, but I consider Captain Marvel more in the middle ground in the MCU lineup. I read one review I complete agree with that said, if Marvel's intention was to make Captain Marvel feel like a standard 90's action film, they succeeded.

Frankly i am going put this at the very bottom of the list. Because in Thor 2, Iron Man 2&3, Antman and the Wasp, Doctor Stange, First Avangers i actually cared about there protagonist. And if can't make me care about the protagonist of your Superhero movie. Than you have failed in making a Superhero movie. Period.

That's not true. I've actually defended Bree Larson quite a lot on these threads. That still doesn't mean I thought the move was among the best of the MCU franchise (nor have I ever said the move was god-awful).

I don't think anyone would be Hating on a Blonde Girl. If they had made a Black Widow movie instead. You know that character people actually like. I know that Kevin Feige must hate one woman and her name is Scarlett Johansson.

Yeah but it think the Black Widow movie should came out first. It just seem a slap in the face to Ms Johansson and people who like her Black Widow. Especially considering that the protagonist of this movie is so fricken dull.

No, Im not sick of Black Widow. Im sick of Kevin "Im a DIpsh!t" Fiege pushing this character, lamest version of Superman ever, Superman if he had no personality what so ever and didn't gave a sh!t about anything. as the messiah of all there future movies.
