Isn't Steve Rogers dead?

"Captain America 4" has been renamed "Captain America: New World Order (2024)" with Sam Wilson (fka Falcon) (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America.

Isn't Steve Rogers dead?

That hasn't been confirmed definitely. Some say he is dead, others that he lives on in another timeline, and there are those that say 'no one ever dies in the Marvel Universe and one day Steve Rogers will return as Captain America'.

From Does Captain America die in the MCU?:

Captain America does not die in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the very least, he doesn’t die on-screen. The last we see of Cap is in Avengers: Endgame when, after the Avengers’ battle with Thanos, he returns to the past and lives a long happy life with true love Peggy Carter.

He returns to the present as an old man (having apparently lived out his life in the alternate timeline he created) and gives Sam Wilson, a.k.a. The Falcon, his shield, setting the stage for his long-time friend to become the next Captain America.

While it’s heavily implied in Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that Steve Rogers has died, the likely explanation is that the public doesn’t know the truth about his trip into the past and that he simply returned to his timeline (or lived out the rest of the years in the main MCU timeline as an elderly man).

His fate remains uncertain, but you would imagine that such a major character’s death would have been mentioned.

From Is Captain America Dead? What Happened to Captain America After Endgame?:

The MCU Phase 4 has raised some big questions about exactly what happened to old Captain America after Avengers: Endgame, including a rather sad one: is Steve Rogers dead? Captain America's story ended with Endgame, but his legacy lives on. Most pertinently, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed on directly from Steve's Endgame ending — more specifically, the climactic moments where an old Captain America handed his shield to Sam Wilson. Steve got his happy ending with Peggy Carter — ostensibly in another timeline, though it's a point even Endgame's directors and writers didn't agree on. Ultimately, what happened to Captain America after Endgame remains a mystery.

So Steve Rogers is probably alive.

However, I really like The Falcon. Massively better than the Black Panther.

So… no mutant stuff?
I’d be interested to learn who the Avengers are, as most of the original are dead or retired or MIA. The new heroes in recent MCU efforts haven’t coalesce into any recognizable team yet.

At the end of season one "Ms Marvel (2022-)", Bruno revealed Kamala's blood contained a mutation none of her ancestors possessed. Then the iconic 1990s animated X-Men theme played in the background. So Kamala Khan (aka Ms Marvel) is the first confirmed mutant in the MCU.

There might be more mutants in the upcoming movie "The Marvels (2023)" and other movies in phase 5 and 6, but you'll probably have to wait until phase 7 for a real movie about mutants (X-Men).
