Aquaman in China this weekend where the film delivered a massive $93.6 million, becoming the #1 film globally from one market alone. Wow.

Oh yeah, Aquaman is gonna FLOP, no one cares about DC, much less some lame underwater superhero that talks to fish! #upyoursmarveltards

Ignore the other guy, he'll call you a "marveltard" if you say anything negative about the DCEU.

Im really interested in seeing what the opening for this will be in the US. Also hate how studios make deals for different release dates in different regions.

Most of IM3's gains came from acknowledging the audience over there as well as here in the English US. The producers are most likely trying to play the same wager with this DC property to secure the next feature films over with the respectable company.

Same thing they did with The Meg, Chinese ate it up! Plus it was a fun summer film.

Gotta agree. I'm the flip side of your views. Grew up loving DC, but just now learning the Marvel universe. I wonder why Marvel didn't push for a Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner film He actually preceded Aquaman by a few months back in the 1930's-40's.

All of the Movie Rights are still not owned by Marvel and for what it is worth Marvel/Disney has done their world building in a way that allows the audience to so far not become overwhelmed. Remember Marvel sets the characters and the adventures in a pseudo version of Earth with real cities. Introducing Atlantis and a race of humanoids is tricky business.

Estimates are at $70-80 million three-day weekend right now. Soooo lets see what happens. And its currently $261 million worldwide. Looking really good for WB right now. Seems like it might be this years Jumanji.
