Given that this is her "coming of age" story ( as said by director), I felt that it called for a younger actress, like early 20s, not early 30s.
Plus when casting someone who will star in more releases, why not build in a buffer zone?

l assume they cast Gal Gadot because she was the best choice (had all the right qualities) and her age was not important.

I think her age detracted from the "fish out of water" moments in London. Instead of seeming childlike (like Daryl Hannah in the movie Splash) she came across as a little loco.

Well, people are maturing far later in life nowadays in terms of being adults and putting away childish ways...
It stands to reason that the target audience would probably expect to see themselves as childlike well into their 30s...
The way current 25 year olds still consider themselves teens...

I'm pretty sure she was just the right age. This is the first I've heard of such a complaint. Gal was perfect in this role.

She is and she isn't. The fact that she is more or less straight out of training academy, normally means the character is on the cusp of adulthood. For such a role, you'd generally cast a younger actress.

She used to be the 'all american hero' like most comic heroes, so her being middle eastern looking is either a breathe of fresh air or offensive, however you attached you were to the original character.

Not really; it's her first time in a world different than her own, and does not understand the culture, or much of anything about life anywhere else on the planet. So yes; everything is new to her, and is being experienced for the first time.

So... when someone goes on holiday do they suddenly turn into a 30 year old child?

She's 32, not 52. Bloody hell. She's still a young lass.

When someone goes from a ancient greece isolated lifestyle to a WWI-era London they might be a bit confused.
And isn't Wonder woman supposed to be several hundred years old? The amazons age very slowly, I think I read she is about 800 years old in this movie. Looking rather fine for her age then.

Gadot is at the right age to play Wonder Woman. It's not like she will be in the role for 18 years like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Gadot is sacrificing some primo child-bearing years for this role. Any pregnancy would delay production so if Gadot has any plans to raise a family, she'd leave the role before she really gets too old.

She already had one daughter and was pregnant during filming. They had to digitally remove her baby bump when they did some reshoots after the main filming was completed.
