Discuss Wonder Woman

Although the review embargo is still in place, what little that has gotten out has been positive. Meanwhile box office predictions have it opening at $65-75 million, well below MoS, BvS or SS.

Everybody I know is thrilled about this movie I bet at $100mil opening at lease.

I read a bunch of good stuff about the movie on another site. Looked really positive.

Box Offic Pro has it at 111m opening, which would be astoundingly good IMO.

I'm reading that as well. If the good reviews continue...and it looks like it will...this movie is going to do extremely well.

Even if it opens on the lower side hopefully good reviews and positive word of mouth will give the film strong legs. If it can have solid showings outside of its opening weekend I think WB will be happy with that. It will also ideally be a good way to lead into Justice League this fall.

will it appeal to the chinese? it might be too american, but it does have a lot of cgi and spectacale so it might do well financially on those grounds...

it will be well received by critics because there is no way they're going to shoot down a big movie with a female lead as a superhero icon.

Why wouldn't they?

they're mostly men... they will apear to be sexists... especially in the current hypersensitive time in media when it comes to gender in movies...

I don't think critics care what gender the lead star is, if they do/don't like it, it's just that, not because of some PC crap.

They sure were not that kind to ghost in the shell so I don't think the female lead is the problem.

They don't care if it's a female lead or not...they'd rip it to shreds if they didn't like it. Remember the movie Catwoman?

catwoman was a different era... it'll be interesting to see how the critics spin any criticism of the movie...

A different era? lol Yeah right. No matter what...the critics are not praising this movie for fear of looking sexist. That's ridiculous.

yeah... its a different world from 2004... especialy when it comes to gender in media, parricularly in the US... we'll see when actual moviegoers get to see the movie...

Right now it has 97% fresh critic rating on RT... 77critic rating on metacritic with no negative review (22 positive, 2 mixed)... we'll know for real soon... will be interesting

Exactly. Critics have a reputation to maintain, faking a review just to please a certain group is practically career suicide imo. Catwoman? WTH is that, never heard of it wink
