I'm unable to like this plot. It depicts a poor girl in desperate for money and the rich quadriplegic guy.
Once she finds out he wanna die and she was hired to make him wanna live, she embraces this challenge. That's touching, but what she does is taking him on trip over trip.
I saw no moment that she'd get addicted on the money. But still, she's living a life she'd never be able to, and he himself is a charming guy wrought on money, with lots of experience on seducing girls. I guess that many women watching the movie will get touched by the backgrounds and the possibility of marrying a billionaire, even if he's quadriplegic.
It makes me wonder if she'd make all that effort if he was poor and she was working on a public hospital full of patients and all she had in hands was a room and its furniture to make him wanna live.

I feel like you are right about all of that. If he was poor no one would have cared and he would have died in a ditch somewhere, probably. Maybe Louisa would have cared anyway? But maybe not.
Even if you accept all of that, I think the special part of the story is when he actually cares about her. Even though he can’t even touch her, and she has no money…in the end he did care and he wanted to her to have a good life. He saw that she was smart and talented when no one else did.
So even if the class differences make the story a little ugly, I think that part remains precious.
