Now that chef Jones has won the third Michelin star, what does that mean for him?
Will he be content with that, or does he want more? A fourth star?
As any Michelin star chef knows, it takes perfection to win a star, but not losing it, is a lifelong commitment. And to get one more would be tantamount to achieving "Nirvana".
How much more stressful will that be? Who will suffer his verbal and physical abuse?
First on his list will certainly be Helene, because they are in a relationship. She'll have to take the brunt of his emotional outbursts.
But that's allright. The world of chefs is a special one. To belong to this group of gifted elite, means that one must suffer and sacrifice everything to prepare the perfect dish.
The chef demands hard work, perseverance and perfection from himself, so is it not fair that those working for him must strive for no less than that?
You're not in the army, but in this profession it's even more imperative to be strong, fit and have the will power to succeed. There's no place for the meek and feeble. If you're (un)lucky you'll just be eaten alive. Otherwise you'll be slaughtered, stuffed and cooked in chef's special sauce. Bon appétit!
