Well, that horse sure took being bitten on the neck by a monster well. Just sort of shrugged it off and didn't really bolt or anything. Apparently, it just laid down after that to make itself more zombie accessible too. I realize this was one of the lessor problems with the movie, but the friend I watched it with burst out laughing. The only positive thing I have to say is that the characters were slightly less annoying than the argumentative film students in Diary.
