I liked it ok, not really a strong story but some strong themes in it, depicting what the soldiers went through in combat and how it affected Billy's family, mainly his sister. Another part portrayed well by the movie itself but I felt it over the top for the soldiers was how they had the soldiers put on the show.

It was interesting, but not a hard hitting or powerful movie. This is the kind of movie that is intending to hit you with a powerful message, but I really couldnt figure out exactly what they were trying to say.
Be courageous and protect you friends in battle? Stand up to the military and fight against the hidden damage of PTSD on soldiers? Figure out things like PTSD on your own and dont listen to your sister? War is an invaluable experience, but also make sure that you get a good price when you sell the movie rights?
I enjoyed it, but the movie was certainly weak in a lot of areas. A better title would have been "Billy Lynn's Confusing Feelings About Serving in the War, and his Tough Decision on what he should do next."

I agree with King Cobra. It's a flat-footed attempt at an anti-war film. Ang Lee seemed more keen about trying to make the struggle beautiful than real.

Terrible movie. I really suggest you don't waste your time on it.
