A top-notch cast (including Robert Cummings, Michele Morgan, Steve Cochran, Peter Lorre, et al.) and good writing make this creepy movie worth watching. It's not possible to do the plot justice here, but I'm quite sure you'll like it if you like Film Noir. It's both a crime story and a love story, and unlike a lot of Noir, it has a very satisfying ending.
Sharp-eyed viewers will notice a continuity goof in an early scene when first the criminal controls his car's speed from the back seat. A long shot of the speedometer shows the maximum speed on the dial as 110 mph. But a closer shot shows it to be only 100. Then, in the next shot, it is again 110.
So, for whatever reason, they used two different speedometer gauges. I guess they either didn't notice the goof or else they just didn't care or bother to correct it.
