Most films that lose money theatrically don't get sequels.
It's possible that a sequel could be released straight to streaming if there's demand.
It had a production budget of $100 million and made $359 million world wide. And from what I remember it didnt have a huge marketing budget like Aquaman did. So I dont think it lost money at all. So I dont know where you are getting your info from. There is no reason to think a sequel would go straight to streaming at all. Not to mention it actually was a good movie.

Break even point is approximately $380m, it won't make it.

Maybe, but not like DC has much to go with at this point. Well stuff that people like actually. I see Shazam as a big win for them, and they will continue with a sequel. 99.9% sure of it.
Haters gonna hate..Shazam is a "hit" by box office vs budget + marketing standards, and the Blu Ray & digital sales are only gonna make that profit margin go up!
The "loose" plan by DC is to make a standalone Black Adam movie starring Dwayne Johnson, which will serve as a prequel to this film (the first man The Wizard chose, who ends up turning evil), then have them battle it out in a Shazam sequel..definitely the way to go IMO..give it a slow build up with smaller movies, then cross them over..its been Marvel's strategy all along!
Yeah...besides the fact that this movie actually did make enough money to justify a sequel, lets not forget Dwayne Johnson himself is essentially spearheading this (he was the executive producer and apparently has creative control too). In an instagram post he said the reason he didn't feature Black Adam this time around was because with his origin so immense, and Billy's origin needing to be told, it would be like dueling origin stories where one origin story would suffer. Instead of doing that, we'd get Billy this time, then Black Adam, THEN Billy vs Adam.
