I'm sure the Marvelturds will be coming in here comparing Box Office...as if SOMEHOW that makes a movie "better" (Alita: Battle Angel blows BOTH out of the water...but that's just me)...
Shazam! was indeed a fun movie...right amount of dark elements mixed with the occasional laugh & just a fun time at the movies! My teenagers liked Shazam! more then Captain Marvel!
I haven't seen it yet, but plan to. I don't mind a spoiler, but I gotta ask ... do they ever call the character Captain Marvel?
I'm guessing too, that you know the history between DC and Fawcett, and Marvel claiming copyrights to the name?
No. They mainly call just him Captain Sparkly-Fingers.
Frankly the next time DC decides to sue a comic book company into oblivion over a comic book character cough Fawcett Comics cough. They could at least try to get the god damn trademark. Before another company can swoop in and steal it. Its pretty self evident he wasn't called Captain Marvel in the movie. If not for legal reason. Just so it doesn't confuse normies. As for the movie itself. It was pretty damn good and far more enjoyable than Captain Dull..

I'm normally a Marvel fan but I'll gladly follow Chuck, I mean Zachary Levi over to DC's side for this one.
Shazam was fine - loved the humour and Quinto, but though the villain(s) a bit one dimensional. The adults-acting-like-children-badly jarred for me - felt a bit Power Rangers at the end.
Certainly wouldn't mind seeing more with Black Adam though.
I enjoyed this much more than Captain Marvel...although what gives with the mid and post credit scenes? Not that I mind, just didn't think that was a DC thing.
